After the oil has been cold pressed out of the flaxseed, a flake meal is expelled. Some cold pressing machines expel the meal as a pellet, so you may find flax seed (linseed) pellets in some stores. The Flake is high in protein (approx 33%) and dietary fibre (approx 40%), so is an excellent source of protein with the added benefit of Omega 3 (approx 8%). Ideal for pets with tummy troubles and to promote optimum digestive health.

We cold-press the whole seed which means we don't extract every last drop of oil out of the seed through the expellers. Our expellers extract two products; Flax Seed Oil and Flax Seed Flake. The Flax Seed Flake is then milled down to a very fine powder to form the Flax Seed powder used in many of our powder supplement blends. This means there is a very low oil content, but overall the powders are very shelf stable.

Our powders are best kept in a cool, dry and dark place. Once opened, it's important you keep the lid closed after each use, and remember to keep the silica gel sachet in the pot to absorb moisture.
